Spring Outing

February 15th, it’s a beautiful day. I took the day off work today because I had an appointment.

I had arranged to meet up with my friend so he could take some photos for me, for my birthday.

Taiwan is now stepping into the early days of spring. The winter chill still lingers softly in the air. Warm sunlight. Clear blue sky.

Truly the perfect kind of day for a walk.

We met at Dongmen Station, planning to take photos at the nearby market. But we didn’t expect it to be so crowded – it was basically impossible to pose for photos there. So we decided to wander around instead.

My friend took me around an old neighborhood. I’ve forgotten what it was called, but I remember the architecture – it had something very Japanese about it but somehow I can’t tell clearly.

We just walked around, talked, and took pictures along the way.

He also brought me to the Jianguo Holiday Flower Market. I must say – that place is my paradise. Because I am a flower lover.

Jianguo Holiday Flower Market is huge, and only opens on weekends. There, you can find all kinds of flowers, plants, garden decorations, even aquarium fish.

We bought a few flowers and then walked over to Daan Park nearby to take photos.

I accidentally discovered a section full of blooming hydrangeas, extremely gorgeous, but unfortunately, it wasn’t open to visitors yet.

But overall, today made me really, really happy.
